Yippeee!!! Clint Eastwood's back!.. and how!!!!. I simply love this guy's movies man(Well I used to stubbornely hate Cowboy Westerns till I saw "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly"). He's pure genius...an institution in his own..he's a..ok ok I better stop gushing bout him and get onto business...

Well, many ppl were kinda hoping this movie would be a "Dirty Harry" sequel, thankfully, its not. Clint Eastwood seems to have come out with all guns blazin (quite literally) and a really kick-ass performance in yet another engaging movie from his stable (Hey thats wat i think after seeing this trailer alrite..don't blame me if u find it otherwise..but i think am pretty accurate wit my predictions ..remember Drona and Karzz? lol!)

The Story/Plot:
Its 'bout a disgruntled Korean War vet Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood), who sets out to reform his neighbor, a young Hmong teenager, who tried to steal Kowalski's prized possesion: his 1972 Gran Torino (For those who are wondering...its a Ford Car). And how, in true Clint Eastwoodian Tradition. ends up being their hero (not that he really wants to be) saving their backsides from some pretty badass bad blokes(the word pretty, here, doesn't imply the looks of the bad guys nor their derrieres ok just incase u have me politically misnderstood heh heh)...

My Take:
Looks like it'll be a good movie...its Clint all the way...and at his age he's really kicking butt..and i mean really!! (Big B look up and take notice). And as in all his movies, the human emotion factor is also high. So, looks like a movie dat I'll watch..have a look at the trailer and do tell wat u think urself ...is worth a dekko??

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince ::: The Movie Teaser Trailer

Hi!..I am back, wit a movie story.... finally!!

This time its the penultimate number in the Harry Potter series.. the darkest of the Harry movies yet released ..the Half Blood Prince...This movie is the second in the longer of the Harry Potter Series, the first of which, was the Order of the Phoenix, one, in my opinion, which was a damp squib. That was because the feature was much short in relation to the novel, which had deserved a longer attention, but  the producers

 seemed to think otherwise. Dunno wat this one will offer though. 

This particular one continues with the awesome graphics and moments that the other movies of the franchise offer, superb sfx and gr8 performances... but it remains to be seen as to wat the movie, in its entirety offers.

The Plot/Story:

For those who came in late, this one starts with Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts. In this part, he comes across a mysterious book which is said to belong to a person, who prefers to call himself the Half Blood Prince (owing to his roots of being part-muggle and part-wizard). This book, as Harry finds out, belonged to an old student of Hogwarts who was a genius, but like Harry himself, was an outcast to the vox-populi of the school. 

The story also delves into the childhood of the Dark Lord, Voldemort and how he began to turn to his dark side ( reminded of Star Wars and Darth Vader anyone??) .....the more Harry reads the book of the Half Blood Prince, and the more similarities he finds between the Prince and himself...and the more determined he becomes to discover who the guy really was ....a mystery which is unraveled at very end of the story.

My Review:

Hmmm yea I will definitely watch it as this is my most favorite story amongst all in the magical Harry Potter saga (so will many other's cos of the huge fanbase the books enjoy.. and quite rightfully!!.. i might add). But, only this time will be seeing it wit slight apprehensions since the last movie when I had felt a Lil let down. As for the teasers and trailers ..well the performances look their usual marvelous  selves....Daniel looks Harry..Mr. Fiennes exudes his usual, evil, nose less Voldemort persona...and Ginny's all grown up!!!...the child Tom Riddle (Marvelo) also appears to have been given some good riveting dialogues...mixed reactions on this one...

Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince hits screens July 2009...Like the previous film, this film will be simultaneously released in regular theaters and IMAX 3-D....So, look out for it!!

Quantum of Solace continues the high octane adventures of James Bond in Casino Royale. Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. DragonBall Movie ::: a really sneak peek!!!!

The ever popular anime series DrangonBallZ comes live next april....with an interesting cast and a good 'ol storyline, it looks quite promising...well folks couldn't help bring the spoiler  to u....sorry for this ..but like i said couldn't keep my fingers from wagging...heh !!

My review:

Well like everyone else, I too liked Dragon ball Z..alot actually...heh! heh!...with Stephen Chow (director-actor of acclaimed movies like Kung fu hustle, Shaolin Soccer and the forthcoming kung fu hustle 2, keep watching this space for updates!!)  at the helm of affairs in its production this Fox movie certainly seems to be worth a dekko!!!

Ice Age 3: the Dawn of the Dinosaurs::: releases June '08

Scrat, Manny , Ellie and Sid return for a new installment of the all time fav movie Ice Age...and this time the adventure gets gigantic...or Mesozoic... maybe Jurassic even... or something like that...well its got dinosaurs in it.

If u ask me the title kinda lacks some logic cos i thought the Ice ages happened after the dinosaurs...but then wat the heck...who cares as long as i have fun... as for parents who are concerned dat their kids are gonna download some wrong info into their lil brains........... well folks u gotta take the responsibility of atleast some education!!!

Valkyrie ::: Tom Cruise 's New Movie ...a first look

Hmmm..... well we all know that Tom Cruise 's no capt. Jack Sparrow but he'll be sporting a pirate-like eye patch in his new movie Valkyrie (dats supposed to be "Val-curry" or something ). 

The movie's a WWII thriller based on real story, where in the height of Nazism, a few germans conspire to kill The Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler.

Tom Cruise portrays Col. Claus von Stauffenberg, the aristocratic German officer who led the heroic attempt to bring down the Nazi regime and end the war by planting a bomb in Hitler's bunker known as "The June 20 Plot". 

 Severely wounded in combat, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg returns from Africa to join the German Resistance and help create Operation Valkyrie, the complex plan that will allow a shadow government to replace Hitler's once he is dead. 

But fate and circumstance conspire to thrust Stauffenberg from one of many in the plot to a double-edged central role. Not only must he lead the coup and seize control of his nation's government... He must kill Hitler himself. (source:: yahoo.com)

The movie's directed by veteran Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects, X-MEN, Superman Returns) and armed with an international cast consisting of Manfred-Anton Algrang, David Bamber, Matthias Freihof, Stephen Fry, Andy Gatjen, Christian Oliver, Christopher Karl Hemeyer, Carice van Houten, Eddie Izzard, and Kenneth Branagh alongside Tom Cruise..

The movie certainly seems promising....
It hits U.S. screens this yuletide in December 26 (which is actually a li'l delayed from its Summer 2008 release)

W. ::: The Movie

I was just lazily hyper-texting and hyper-turning thru pages in the Internet, when I came across this funny lil picture with a Big W in it. I looked a lil closer and found that it was the poster for Oliver Stone's forthcoming movie "W" starring Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Banks etc. etc... the quotes by George "dubya" Bush tickled me quite a bit so thought of writing something on it...and so here goes...

My Thought:

Well Oliver stone's a brilliant man and am looking forward to a tight movie with good acting by the good cast lead by Josh Brolin..

Roadside Romeo Movie:::: A sneak peek!!

Well i took a 'lil longer to put up this post about the Walt Disney-Yashraj pictures Joint venture Roadside Romeo ...but then its better l8 than never, rite folks? ....

Roadside Romeo is a movie by first time director and one-time child actor Jugal Hansraj, with voices by Kareena Kapoor and beau Saif ali Khan with funny man Javed Jaffery (hmmm the movie does promise some fun then!!), this movie's about a happy-go-lucky dog who falls into some hard tmes and how he gets out of it..

...anyways, I have previously bantered a lot about this movie in my other posts. So for this time, just sit back and enjoy the trailers...they say it all ...we start with the official theatrical trailer from the official Roadside Romeo website..

Max Payne Movie Releases Oct 17th ::::

Hmmm folks the cult game, Max payne's movie version seems to be finally ready to hit the screens ...so without much ado here's the low down..

Story:

Based on the hard-hitting interactive video game, "Max Payne" tells the story of a maverick cop determined to track down those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. Hell-bent on revenge, his obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmare journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max Payne is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal.

Starring:

Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, and Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges as part of the main cast.

The trailer of the movie is quite good, well i found it awesome. From the looks of it though, the ppl seem to have stuck to the same storyline which makes the Max Payne franchise so appealing.

But, some viewers are of the opinion that Micheal Madsen(Kill Bill,Reservoir Dogs etc.) would have suited the role of the troubled,insomniac,painkiller-popping policeman much better. I have put a video some people put up at you-tube for the same(by the way for folks who are dumb: the date at the end of the video is fake)... and u know wat??..i felt the same at one point heh heh..but our Marky mark's not to be ignored folks...wat say u?

Hopefully, this movie will fare better than the other game movies which were made earlier(Hitman being the most recent among the cult ones)..most of which fell flat in the box office, the USP of this one being the good dash of hollywood movie stylization of the game itself. The winged guys flying all over the place seem to be an addition though, hope they dint go overboard with the feathered fiends ;P.

Max Payne directed by Irish filmmaker John Moore, with screenplay written by first-time writer Beau Thorne and Mark Wahlberg in the lead hits screens this October 17th.

Live Earth Concert In India::: Bon Jovi to rock the show!!!

Hey hey hey people!!...the popular Live Earth Concerts for climatic awareness touches down  to India this December. This event is like a sequel to the hugely successful series of concerts held last year. These were organized by former US Vice President and now custodian of environmental awareness, Mr. Al Gore. That event saw an estimated two billion people watch 150 acts perform simutaneously in 11 cities around the world!! (Phew!! now thats wat i call an audience!!). Live Earth 2008 Concert in India will be co-produced by Mumbai-based event management company Wizcraft Entertainment and Live Earth producer Kevin Wall.

The Bachchan family members, including actress wife Jaya, actor son Abhishek and his wife, the former Miss World and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, are expected to participate. But, the most prominent among them The Big B, Amitabh Bachchan plays the most important role this time too, like always. He's going to be the spokesperson for Live Earth India.

The 'Live Earth' initiative by Emmy Award-winning producer Kevin Wall and Al Gore has found support in co-nobel prize winning environmentalist Rajendra Pauchari and Director Shekhar Kapoor(who'll also serve as the creative director of the event), besides Bachchan. 

Jon Bon Jovi's Band is almost a surety for the concert, which will have many more internationaly famed performing artists on it. All the people on the show will have their take on the Issue at hand i.e. to bring worldwide awareness on the environmental issues. The benefeciaries of this concert are; Pachauri's  TERI ( The Energy and Research Institute) and

 an organisation 'Climate project India', which is dedicated to climate issues and poverty alleviation. For TERI, the artists hope to create awareness for the "Light A Billion Lives",  a project that aims to put a solar-powered lantern in a billion homes. This a project 

 promoted by the eminent

 New Delhi-based Indian scientist Rajendra Pachauri who shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore.

Live Earth 2008 India takes place on December 7 at the 20,000-seat Mumbai Andheri Sports Complex.

Animation Movie ::: Ramayana - the Epic

Another news of a major Animation movie folks. This time its Ramayana. This annnouncement by Maya Entertainment comes at the heels of Maniratnam announcing his own live action Ramayana Movie with a formidable screencast consisting of Bollywood and tamil actors.

The animation movie will be directed by Chetan Desai, and have voice-overs by Juhi Chawla (Sita), Manoj Bajpai (Ram), Ashutosh Rana (Ravan), and Mukesh Rishi (Hanuman).

Desai is keen on the promotion of the feature for raising awareness on the Indian Mythological Stuff.

Hmmm...though I, for one, would like to see film-makers coming out with more innovative and original stuff akin to what the Hollywood/Japanese do, without just rehashing the old stuff left behind. But considering the economics, awareness, stigma of animated stuff being associated with immaturity and the great Indian Mythological Hangover...this would be really hard to do but certainly not impossible.
